Privacy Policy

CaddieBora ("CaddieBora", "we", "us", or "our") operates the CaddieBora mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the app.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, account identifier, password credentials managed by Firebase Authentication, and whether you register as a golfer or caddie.
• Profile information: name, optional phone number, profile photo, bio, home club, handicap and CDH number, experience, known courses, specialties, pricing, availability, and phone-number sharing preference, where applicable.
• Booking information: selected golf course, booking date and time, number of holes, price, booking status, notes, and the users involved in a booking.
• Reviews and preferences: ratings, review comments and tags, favorite caddies, and availability settings.
• Device and notification information: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver app notifications and basic technical information processed by Firebase to provide its services.
• Analytics and app-usage information: app screens viewed, feature interactions such as searches, bookings and reviews, account role, caddie verification status, app version, device type, operating-system information, and an app-instance identifier generated by Firebase Analytics. Analytics events do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, user account IDs, booking notes, or search text.

The app requests internet access and, on supported Android versions, permission to send notifications. CaddieBora does not currently request precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, or advertising-tracking permissions.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and secure user accounts and provide password-reset services.
• Display profiles and help golfers discover suitable caddies.
• Create, manage, and communicate booking requests and status changes.
• Provide availability, favorites, ratings, reviews, and account features.
• Send service notifications, including booking updates and reminders.
• Understand feature usage, measure app reliability, improve navigation and product performance, and diagnose technical problems.
• Prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, maintain security, and comply with law.

3. Information visible to other users

Information needed to provide the marketplace may be visible to other users. This may include names, profile photos, caddie experience and pricing, availability, ratings, review content, and booking-related information shared with the other party to a booking. A phone number is shared only where the user has enabled phone-number sharing and the booking workflow permits contact.

4. Service providers and disclosures

We use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Firebase Analytics, to operate and improve the app. Google may process information on our behalf under its applicable terms and privacy safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the app, subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information and do not currently use personal information for third-party advertising. The app does not request Android's advertising-ID permission, and CaddieBora does not use Firebase Analytics for advertising personalization.

5. Analytics choices and controls

CaddieBora does not currently provide an in-app analytics toggle. You can stop future app analytics collection by uninstalling the app. Device-level privacy controls provided by Android or Google may also affect information available to analytics services. Account deletion does not necessarily remove analytics records that have already been aggregated or de-identified and are no longer linked to your CaddieBora account. Contact us if you have a privacy request concerning analytics information.

6. Data retention

We retain account and service information while an account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the app, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Some booking and transaction-related records may be retained after account deletion where required for legitimate business or legal purposes. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including Firebase security controls and encrypted network connections. No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

CaddieBora is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

10. International processing

Information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, including where Google and its service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. We use service providers and safeguards intended to protect information as described in this policy.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy at this address and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
